Singing at Spivey

Spivey Hall Young Artists' Choir, 2012

I am a member of the Spivey Hall Children's Choir.  We drive to Morrow, GA, once a week for rehearsal. Every practice starts with our accompanist teaching us music theory and solfege. We warm up, doing breathing exercises and singing scales, then our director, Dr. Shaw, comes in and rehearses our songs with us.

I enjoy singing at Spivey because there are students from all over Atlanta that come to be in the choir. Dr. Shaw teaches us so much and I am thankful for this opportunity.

This year is the choir's 20th anniversary, and we will be on National Public Radio. You can buy tickets through the Spivey Hall Box Office. You can also purchases tickets here for all of the other performances at Spivey Hall.

This is the Tour Choir and the Children's Choir singing the first verse of Angel Carol. This will be on our Christmas concert.

I'd also like to mention one of my favorite blogs. Check out Ryan's Miscellaneous for book reviews, car reviews, and more.
